✓ Ulema Approved Zakat Policy
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam and a sacred obligation that purifies our wealth and supports those in need. At Aghosh UK - Alkhidmat Foundation, we treat your Zakat as a sacred trust (Amanah) and ensure it reaches the most vulnerable members of our Ummah across the globe.
With our Ulema-approved Zakat policy, you can have complete confidence that your donation is distributed according to Islamic principles, reaching Gaza orphans, Pakistani orphans, martyrs' families, and those suffering from poverty and hunger.
Every project has been carefully designed to meet the urgent needs of the most vulnerable while adhering strictly to Shariah guidelines for Zakat distribution.
Since October 2023, more than 40,000+ children in Gaza have lost one or both parents, leaving them traumatised and vulnerable. These innocent children face an uncertain future, struggling with grief, displacement, and poverty.
We currently have registered data of 5,000 Gaza orphans on our portal. Your Zakat provides direct financial support to an orphan's widowed mother or guardian, helping them meet the child's essential needs including food, shelter, education, and healthcare.
There are 4.2 million orphans across Pakistan who have lost their primary breadwinner and are growing up in poverty and uncertainty. Without support, these children face a bleak future with limited access to education, healthcare, and basic necessities.
Aghosh UK - Alkhidmat Foundation currently supports over 34,000 orphans in Pakistan. Through our Zakat-eligible sponsorship programme, we provide monthly financial support directly to families at home, covering an orphan's food, education, healthcare, and basic living needs.
We believe orphaned children should grow up with dignity rather than dependency. By supporting them in their family environment, we preserve their emotional wellbeing, family bonds, and sense of belonging while ensuring they receive the resources they need to thrive.
Healthcare workers – doctors, nurses, and paramedics – in Gaza gave their lives to save the lives of others. They stood at the frontlines of humanity, treating the wounded and sick even as danger surrounded them.
Now their bereaved families face an uncertain future without their breadwinners. Honour their service and sacrifice by giving stability and dignity to those they left behind. Standing with them is a collective obligation of the Ummah.
Every year, 53,000 Pakistani children under the age of five die from diarrhoea caused by dirty water and poor sanitation. Access to clean, safe water is not just a convenience – it's a matter of life and death.
Aghosh UK delivers a variety of Zakat-eligible, innovative and environmentally-responsible clean water solutions including community hand pumps, submersible pumps, water wells, filtration plants, and gravity flow schemes. These sustainable solutions ensure vulnerable communities have safe access to water for drinking, cooking, and sanitation.
Installing a water source in a community becomes Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), providing continuous rewards as families benefit for years to come.
Many talented students from Zakat-eligible families in Gaza continue to pursue their dream of becoming doctors despite extreme financial hardship and incredible challenges. These resilient young people represent the future of Gaza's healthcare system, on which countless lives will depend.
Your Zakat helps cover their training and essential educational costs, enabling them to become qualified medical professionals who will serve their community for decades to come.
Rising inflation, unemployment, and instability have pushed countless families into hunger in Gaza, Pakistan, and across the globe. Many families are surviving on just a single meal a day, struggling to feed their children and maintain basic nutrition.
Aghosh UK provides monthly food rations that supply essential staples to sustain an entire family for one month. These food packs include flour, rice, oil, lentils, sugar, and other nutritious items carefully selected to meet dietary needs.
Fitrana or Zakat al-Fitr is a small but powerful charity which purifies our fasts and helps the needy. It is due from every Muslim before the Eid al-Fitr prayer, ensuring that even the poorest members of our community can celebrate Eid with dignity.
Fidya is paid by someone who is unable to fast due to long-term illness or a permanent difficulty. If you cannot make up missed fasts due to chronic illness, old age, or other permanent conditions, you should pay Fidya.
Fidya feeds 1 person per missed day of fasting in Ramadan. By paying Fidya, you fulfill your religious obligation while ensuring a needy person receives a nutritious meal.
Kaffarah becomes due when a person intentionally breaks or misses a fast in Ramadan without a valid excuse. This is a serious matter that requires expiation through feeding the poor.
A person must feed 60 poor people for each missed fast. Aghosh UK ensures your Kaffarah payment provides nutritious meals to those most in need.
"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed of grain which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies His reward for whom He wills."
— Surah Al-Baqarah 2:261
