Why We’re Hiking

Thousands of children in Gaza have been left without one or both parents as a result of the ongoing war.

Around 39,000 children have lost one or both parents, with approximately 17,000 believed to have lost both parents, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics in 2025.

Behind every number is a child facing grief, displacement, hunger and uncertainty.

Through this sponsored hike, we want to stand beside these children and help give them the care, protection and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.

Supporting Gaza’s Orphans

Funds raised will support the Emergency Orphan Sponsorship Programme, helping provide orphaned children in Gaza with ongoing care and essential support, including:

✔️ Financial assistance for food, clothing and shelter
✔️ Educational support to help children continue learning
✔️ Psychosocial support to help children cope with trauma
✔️ Healthcare, check-ups and essential medical assistance

Your Challenge

Every participant is encouraged to raise a minimum of £250.

Ask your family, friends, colleagues and community to sponsor your hike. Every donation can help provide security, dignity and hope to a child who has already lost so much.

Zakat and Sadaqah are applicable.
